Key-hole Surgical Approaches - Other Approaches
Endonasal Transphenoidal Approach | Supra-orbital Eyebrow Craniotomy | Retro-sigmoid Key-hole Craniotomy | Other Key-hole Craniotomies
KEY-HOLE SURGICAL APPROACHES:
Surgical Navigation-Guided Craniotomy:
removal of gliomas, metastatic and other brain tumors.
A pre-operative surgical navigation MRI allows the scalp incision and bone opening (craniotomy) to be tailored to the location of the tumor and helps the surgeon safely and effectively remove it. Intra-operative ultrasound is also used to help localize tumors that are deeper in the brain once the bony opening has been completed.
Case Examples
- Anaplastic Glioma
- Metastatic Melanoma
- Metastatic Ovarian Carcinoma
